What is a Confidentiality Agreement?

A confidentiality agreement, also known as a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), is a legally binding contract that prevents employees from sharing a company's sensitive information. The purpose of a confidentiality agreement is to protect the company's trade secrets, intellectual property, customer data, financial information, and other sensitive information.

FOIP!

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act!

FOIP aims to strike a balance between the public’s right to know and an individual’s right to privacy, as these rights relate to information held by public-sector bodies in Alberta.

The Village of Edgerton Employees are trained, and have signed confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. Which are bound as life time agreements. Any and all information presented by a person or pertaining to a property is considered confidential.

Councilors sign many forms that confine what they are able to discuss outside of Council Chambers. Including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

NDA - Nondisclosure Agreement

What is a Nondisclosure Agreement?

Where a Confidentiality Agreement is typically used in employment or personal situation to protect sensitive information, NDA's are often used in business and legal settings to protect trade secrets, client lists, sensitive information, and financial data.
