Councilor Della Hughes

Biography

Growing up in Lloydminster, Della worked various jobs, she spent a few years in print shops then transitioning to labor positions with local pipeline companies in the mid-90s. This journey eventually led Della to Benoit Oilfield Construction in Chauvin, where she worked as a laborer and sideboom operator. In 1997, Della joined Precision Contractors running heavy equipment, building leases and lease roads throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. In 2000, she settled into her home here in Edgerton. A work-related injury in 2013 prompted Della's early retirement, but it also inspired her to give back to the community that supported her during her recovery. In 2021, Della proudly ran for a position on Town Council, eager to contribute her varied experiences and dedication to the place she calls home.
