Progress Update: New Lagoon and Force Main Project Accelerates!
April 11 2025
We're thrilled to share significant progress on the ongoing lagoon and force main project in Edgerton! Over the past month, our dedicated contractors have made remarkable strides, propelling us closer to completion. Here's a detailed look at the exciting developments:
Force Main Breakthrough! Horizontal Boring Completed:
A major milestone has been achieved! The intricate horizontal boring process is now complete. Along with the boring, the new 200 mm (8 inch) pipe has been successfully installed under the roadway, connecting the lift station to the new facultative cell. The recent pressure test was also highly successful.
Outflow Ditch Nears Completion:
The outflow ditch is rapidly taking shape. Rough grading is nearly finished, laying the foundation for efficient and effective water flow. This crucial element will ensure the smooth operation of the lagoon system.
Lagoon Cell Construction Underway!
The construction of the lagoon cells is now in full swing! We're excited to announce the impressive capacities and dimensions of these cells:
- Facultative Cell (First Cell): This cell will hold a substantial 11,540 cubic meters (11,540,000 liters) of wastewater, providing essential primary treatment. It measures 105 meters by 105 meters (approximately 344 feet by 344 feet).
- Storage Cell: Designed for long-term storage, this cell boasts an impressive capacity of 66,030 cubic meters (66,030,000 liters). It measures 100 meters wide by 309 meters long (approximately 328 feet wide by 1014 feet long).
These significant capacities and dimensions demonstrate the scale and effectiveness of the new lagoon system, ensuring robust and reliable wastewater management for our community.
